We understand that seeking help with perimenopause or menopause can sometimes feel daunting. At SY Menopause Solutions Ltd, our aim is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you feel listened to and supported.
Appointments can be arranged either online (video consultations from the comfort of your home), telephone, or face-to-face, depending on your preference. Before your consultation, you will be sent a medical questionnaire and a menopause symptom checklist. This helps us gather important information so we can better understand your health and experience.
New Patient Initial Consultation
During your first appointment, we allow up to 50 minutes so that you have time to talk openly about your symptoms, health history, and concerns. Everything you share is treated in the strictest confidence, with records stored securely.
Together we will review your medical history, your Menopause Symptoms Questionnaire, and any current or previous medications. This enables us to take a holistic, personalised approach to your care.
You will receive evidence-based information that reflects guidance from NICE and the British Menopause Society. Based on your individual needs, we may discuss and suggest possible treatment options that you can request from your GP, such as body-identical HRT, or, where appropriate, testosterone therapy. If HRT is not your preference, we will explore lifestyle approaches and alternative strategies to support you.
Treatment Plan
You will receive your clinic letter within 3 working days, which will outline your personalised treatment plan in detail, along with any supporting information. We recommend sharing a copy with your GP (with your consent) so they are informed about any suggested new medications or treatments you are considering starting.
3-Month Follow-Up Consultation
Your follow-up appointment at three months provides an opportunity to review how you've been feeling and discuss any ongoing symptoms or concerns. During this session, we can make adjustments to your treatment plan if needed, while continuing to take a holistic approach to your care. With your consent, we recommend sharing a copy of your clinic letter with your GP so they are kept informed of any changes to your plan.
Follow-Up Consultation (6-12 Months)
Once your treatment plan is established , it is advisable to review your progress at least once a year. Hormone needs can change over time, and this is also a chance to discuss any changes in your general health. You are always welcome to book a review sooner if you fee you need additional support.
HRT Review & Testosterone Discussion
This consultation is designed for women already using HRT but continue to experience a low sex drive and wish to explore whether testosterone treatment could be helpful. Some women do notice positive changes in their energy levels, mood, and concentration when using testosterone. While current research supports these benefits, further studies are still underway to strengthen the evidence.
Prior to your consultation a blood test to measure testosterone and SHBG levels is required. Please note that only serum blood samples are accepted - not finger- prick tests. If you have not had this done we can send you a link to have this done either locally or in your own home.
Following your consultation, you may wish to discuss commencing or adjusting your prescription with your GP. With your consent, a summary letter can be sent to your GP to ensure your care remains fully coordinated.
If your SY Menopause Solutions practitioner recommends a blood test, we partner with Medichecks to facilitate this service.
During your consultation we will decide on the most convenient collection option for you:
Once Medichecks confirms payment for the test, they will contact you directly to arrange details.

This is the transition period right before menopause.
You may notice significant alterations in your menstrual cycle; periods can shift in intensity (heavier or lighter flow) and frequency (closer together or further apart). As hormone levels fluctuate during this phase, it's common for symptoms to change unpredictably from one day or week to the next.
Menopause is considered early between the ages of 40 and 45.
Menopause before age 40 is a specific condition called Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), which impacts about 1 in 100 women. Due to the increased risk of osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease associated with POI, hormone replacement is vital for long-term health protection.
This is the general term used to describe a stage in a woman's life when the ovaries stop producing eggs.. This is defined when menstrual periods have stopped for 12 consecutive months. The average age in the UK is 51 years old.
Time in your life one day after the menopause when menstrual periods have stopped for 12 consecutive months
Occurs when both ovaries have been surgically removed - know as bilateral oophorectomy. This leads to a sudden onset of menopausal symptoms due to a decrease in oestrogen and testosterone level.
This occurs when ovarian function is disrupted or permanently changed due to medical treatment, e.g. chemotherapy, radiotherapy or treatment for some other medical conditions. There can also be other causes of an early or premature menopause.
After the age of 45 you do not need blood tests to confirm you are Peri/Menopausal. A blood test is advised to confirm premature ovulations insufficiency under the age of 40 years old. This can be discussed in your consultation.
